VW Transporter T5 Pick-Up
At the request of a municipality in the Netherlands, EV Europe has done a conversion of a number of VW Transporters type T5 and T6. For this purpose a standardized conversion package was developed in which the fuel engine is replaced by a 250 Nm strong AC e-motor. Also, the entire CAN communication is controlled from the e-car-box so that the entire dashboard functions again as with the combustion engine. The tachometer now gives the e-motor rpm and the temperature gauge the engine/controller temperature. For the battery system a robust LiFePo4 battery system has been chosen, however, for a greater range a Lithium Iion battery system can be chosen.
The transporter T5 is in use to the great satisfaction of the municipality of Leidschendam and also regularly pulls a 1500 kg trailer through the municipality.
